Collection and programming
The Regional Council, on the proposal of the Councillor for Environmental Protection Rosanna Laconi, has approved the distribution of the restricted resources deriving from the regional hunting tax, destined for the interventions of wildlife repopulationThis €796.786, collected in 2024 and planned for the 2025 financial year, will be transferred to the Provinces and Metropolitan Cities based on objective criteria related to the territory. The initiative is part of the regulatory framework of Regional Law No. 23/1998, Article 79 of which provides for the financing of provincial plans for the conservation and reproduction of wild fauna. With the amendment introduced by Regional Law No. 5/2022, the entire proceeds from the hunting tax will be allocated to wildlife repopulation.
Concrete support
"We are enhancing the role of local authorities in wildlife management," Councilor Laconi stated, "through concrete support for conservation, environmental rebalancing, and biodiversity enhancement. With this measure, we are revitalizing a historic function of the Provinces and strengthening the link between environmental protection and territorial responsibility."
Sustainable management
The distribution of funds was determined taking into account the agro-forestry-pastoral area and the area of the Temporary Repopulation and Capture Zones (ZTRC), as established by a 2024 resolution. Among the main beneficiaries are the Metropolitan City of Cagliari (€197.771,73), the Province of Oristano (€140.022,19), and the Medio Campidano (€97.020,47). With this resolution, the Sardinia Region confirms its commitment to sustainable wildlife management and the full implementation of environmental policies, consistent with the reform of the system of local governments and the territorial planning defined by Regional Law No. 7/2021 and subsequent implementing provisions.
