125 Baschieri & Pellagri - Olimpia Editorial - Arms
At the end of the year 1885, in the countryside of Marano di Castenaso, about ten kilometers from Bologna, some men under the direction of Settimio Baschieri, the owner of the fund, and the chemist Guido Pellagri, begin the tests for the manufacture of a new smoky hunting powder, as opposed to black powder, then practically the only one in use.
After some time the experiments led to the desired result, and in 1886 Acapnia powder (from the Greek «smokeless») the first Italian white gunpowder made its debut on the Italian market.
Thus began the history of Baschieri e Pellagri, the most prestigious Italian manufacturer of hunting and shooting powders and cartridges.
A story that has lasted for 125 years and which runs parallel to the history of Italy and its industrial take-off. A brand of excellence, that of Baschieri & Pellagri, founded on the values of creativity and production quality, qualities that have allowed brilliant successes, also allowing us to go through inevitable moments of difficulty with courage.
Victories and problems always obtained and faced with great confidence in one's own means, based on technological differentiation and research innovation.
