The Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta has published the latest update of the bulletin relating to the controls for the African swine fever within their jurisdiction. The update is dated April 12, three days ago. The total number of positive cases in wild boars has risen to 2.075. The number remains stable at 803 in Piedmont, rising to 1.272 in Liguria.
The case of Piedmont
Outbreaks have remained stable at nine in pig farms. In Piedmont, no new positive cases have been observed in wild boars. The total in this region remains stable at 803.
Concern in Liguria
Thirteen new positive cases have been detected in wild boars in Liguria: three in the province of Genoa: one in Campomorone (six in total), one in Rapallo (23), one in Santa Margherita Ligure (three); and ten in the province of La Spezia: three in Dego (six in total), seven in Deiva Marina (eight). The total in the region rises to 1.272 positive cases. The number of municipalities in which at least one positive case of African Swine Fever has been observed remains unchanged at 196.
