The regional sections ofUmbria of Italian Federation of Hunting, Enalcaccia, ANUUMigrators e Arch Hunting have issued a joint note on the approval of the draft hunting calendar 2017-2018. The press release became necessary after the associations became aware of the changes compared to the original draft. The changes have been defined marginal, but the hunting acronyms believe that they are penalizing against Umbrian hunters.
In particular, it is not clear the criterion used to halve the seasonal game bags relating to quail and skylark, a number that does not stand up to the comparison with the neighboring regions, Tuscany and Lazio in the first place. The associations then criticized the closing of the quail hunt on October 31st, when in recent years the deadline was also set at 31 December. The note emphasizes above all how these decisions are an offense to the sense of responsibility shown up to now by Umbrian hunters.
The final approval of the text is awaited with a certain curiosity mixed with skepticism: the associations have appealed to the regional councilor for hunting, Fernanda Cecchini, who should be able to rectify the changes without upsetting the entire calendar. Finally, they were asked not to give as justification the request for opinion from ISPRA, mandatory but also non-binding.
