The Regional Council of Marche officially approved the hunting calendar relating to the 2017-2018 season. The start of the hunt was set for next September 2, while the conclusion will be on February 10, 2018. The last session was decisive for the acceptance of the proposal of the regional councilor Moreno Pieroni: there will be, as in other Italian regions, a pre-opening period, in particular the 2, 3, 6, 9 and 10 September they can be withdrawn turtle doves, wood pigeons, crows, jays, magpies, teals and mallards.
In this case the hunt will be open from 5:30 to 12 and from 17 to 19:30. On 11 and 13 September, however, the removal of quail will be allowed even with the use of the dog. As for sedentary game, then, the chosen period goes from September 17 to November 26, while the dog training will start in just over a month, namely August 16.
The start of wild boar hunting will be different according to the Marche provinces: from 1 November to 21 January for Ancona and Pesaro-Urbino, from 22 October to 21 January for Macerata, from 15 October to 14 January for Fermo and Ascoli Piceno. Hunting in derogation will be granted for starlings, pigeons and collared doves. In the latter case, the commissioner Pieroni explained the derogation with the desire to contain agricultural damage.
