SHOT SHOW 2021 | Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases worldwide, NSSF, the trade association of the firearms industry, today makes the difficult announcement that it is SHOT Show 2021 has been canceled. NSSF remained in constant communication with Nevada officials throughout the year in planning for the 2021 show. Although there has been a concerted effort to expand the allowable levels for large gatherings by the county and state, with the Positivity rates that peaked during the key planning period, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the 2021 show. Unfortunately, these peaks are currently emerging around the world. Given the sheer complexity, diminished timing and immense logistical planning required to run a trade show as large as SHOT, NSSF simply couldn't move forward at this point with so many unknowns and variables. Commendable, the guidance of the Nevada and Las Vegas officials in allowing this news to be communicated to exhibitors and attendees well in advance of the show.
Planning and work for it SHOT Show 2021 they were nothing short of remarkable. Since the pandemic began in early 2020, NSSF staff and event partners have been working around the clock to plan the biggest show in history around Covid-24, while maintaining the health and safety of all people involved in the first place. The support from exhibitors this year was also nothing short of extraordinary. Three months after the show, the space available is for the Sands Expo Center than for future expansion to the new Caesars Forum it was nearly sold out, with more companies than ever represented at the SHOT Show.
All of this positions NSSF towards one SHOT Show 2022 which will undoubtedly be the best in the history of the industry and can't wait to be able to bring the whole community together again in a show that will be one to remember. Over the next year, NSSF is calling for the industry's unwavering support as the struggle continues to promote, protect and preserve the industry in these troubling times.
During this year, NSSF has remained at the forefront. As thousands of businesses across the country were shut down as "non-essential" during the pandemic, NSSF worked tirelessly to list firearms dealers, ranges, manufacturers and distributors as "essential", which allowed them to stay open.
NSSF is the trade association, tasked with promoting the industry with numerous initiatives, from education, security initiatives, compliance and security resources, to import / export guidance, to consumers, relations with the government and the SHOT Show, aimed at helping companies in the sector to be successful. Now more than ever, there is a need for continued support from all.
