Triple date
Over the weekend of Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th August, the FITAV Interregional First Category Olympic Trench Grand Prix took place at the TAV Cascata delle Marmore (TR), TAV Delle Alpi (VC) and TAV Spinella (BR) . A total of 223 specialists took part in the three events, with 97 shooters in Umbria, 90 in Piedmont and 36 in Puglia. At the TAV Cascata delle Marmore (TR), victory went to Giuseppe Gasparretti of Martinsicuro (TE), who completed the five qualifying series with 119/125, to which he added 24/25 in the final series, for a total of 143/150. To determine second and third place, a shoot-off was necessary between Andrea Saccomandi of Vasto (CH) and Nicolò Bernasconi, both with 142/150. Saccomandi prevailed by +3 to +2, taking the silver medal and leaving the bronze to Bernasconi.
Piedmont rankings
At the TAV Delle Alpi (VC), Alberto Belluzzo of Pravisdomini (PN) took first place with a score of 144/150, the result of a 120/125 qualifying score and a 24/25 final score. With the same score, Belluzzo won the play-off by a score of +1 to +0 over Claudio Picasso of Sori (GE), who also had a score of 144/150 after a 119/125 qualifying score and a perfect 25/25 final score. Riccardo Giolo of Valenza (AL) took third place, scoring 120/125 in qualifying and 23/25 in the final, for a total of 143/150.
The races in Puglia
At the TAV Spinella (BR), Luigi Francesco Pugliese of Corigliano-Rossano (CS) secured victory with a score of 141/150, a result achieved thanks to a qualifying score of 117/125 and a final score of 24/25. A play-off was also required to determine the second and third places on the podium. The silver medal went to Dante Fanti of Rome with a score of 139/150+4, while Pierluigi Ricci of Montegiorgio (FM) took bronze with a score of 139/150+3. The weekend's program was rounded out by the FITAV Regional Summer Championships. In the only event on the calendar, dedicated to Compak Sporting and hosted by the TAV Valle d'Angelo (PZ) in Basilicata, 16 shooters competed (source: FITAV).
