Young chefs competing between tastings and workshops in Riccagioia, Torrazza Coste (PV) the third edition of "Emergente" for the best cook, from 17 to 19 November 2012.
Young chefs competing between tastings and workshops. From 17 to 19 November in Riccagioia, Torrazza Coste, in the Oltrepò Pavese hills, the third edition of "Emergente" will nominate the best under 30 chef in Northern Italy. A historic farm nestled in the hills of Oltrepò Pavese and seat of the Center for Research, Training and Services of Vine and Wine, will host the third edition of "Emergente" from 17 to 19 November, the competition to elect the best emerging chef of the Northern Italy.
Cuisine and food and wine are the "first ingredients" of this event now in its third edition and which this year has chosen the splendid center of Riccagioia in Torrazza Coste in the province of Pavia as the location. The event conceived by the food and wine journalist Luigi Cremona and supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Pavia, will see the 16 best young chefs of Northern Italy compete against each other on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November in the preparation of two dishes (judged by a specialized jury of journalists) to conquer the right to access the final on Monday 19 November.
In the large and restored spaces of the nineteenth-century estate of Riccagioia, the best wineries of the Oltrepò Pavese will find space together with the Pavia producers of excellence (cured meats, cheeses, desserts). A gourmet area will be set up where established chefs will prepare - Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 to 18.00 - three dishes, one of which strictly based on rice, the standard-bearer of agriculture in the province of Pavia.
There will also be workshops to learn how to prepare Christmas desserts, to discover the best mountain and hill cheeses, to learn everything about "the food of the Gods", truffles and pinot noir, the basis for the Oltrepò Pavese DOCG bubbles. But also courses on "bonsai food" or "food design", on the shapes and colors of the table and much more.
On the morning of Monday, November 19, the Touring Club guide "Hotels & Restaurants 2013" created by Luigi and Teresa Cremona will be presented and certificates will be delivered to the best Italian hotels and restaurants.
