The 9th “Sagra della Piè Fritta” will take place on 2012 April 56, Easter Monday, in Fontanelice, a small village in the province of Bologna in the Tuscan-Romagna hills.
Fontanelice (Bologna) a small village of 1900 inhabitants in the Tuscan-Romagna hills. It rises next to the Santerno river in the green valley rich in fruit (strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, apples, pears, chestnuts, grapes, kiwis) and excellent wine. The town is associated with the Wine Cities and the Flowering Municipalities and is rich in beef cattle breeding of the Romagna breed, dairy cattle with artisanal production of cheeses and sheep.
It is located 17 KM from Imola on the Selice Montanara provincial road which connects Florence to Imola. It can be reached from Imola via the A13 motorway or via the A1 motorway, Barberino del Mugello exit, then Firenzuola.
The festival, as every year, will take place on Easter Monday (April 9) with distribution from the early morning of the tasty Piè accompanied by cold cuts, cheeses, local wine (Sangiovese), music and you can have fun with horse-drawn carriage rides accompanied by Tinto al grass and the donkey Giulio. There will be over 60 stalls for the traditional market, the funfair and the traditional donkeys will be hosted at the asinodrome (sports field). In the early afternoon the s'ciucarèn (whippers) with the musical band of the Passatore di Brisighella, will accompany the donkeys along the streets of the town, stopping in the main square where they will be presented to the citizens.
Finally they will go to the asinodrome for the traditional SOMARI race between the eight districts: Cirenaica, Casetto San Pietro, Campomoro, Fornione, Prato-Gesso, Posseggio-SantaMargherita, Parioli, San Giovanni. The race will finish at approximately 17pm. You can also visit Palazzo Mengoni which hosts for the occasion the collective exhibition prepared by the Circolo Culturale Amici dell'Arte. The party will end at 19 pm with the final greeting by the Association.
In the past year 16 quintals of piadina were mixed and fried and the Sagra attracted a significant influx of another 15.000 people. The entrance to the village is free and the taste of fried pie on the stand is free of charge. You can also find ample parking for campers near the Santerno river bed.

10 am opening of the Mengoni Cultural Center collective exhibition of the Circolo Culturale Amicidell'Arte Giuseppe.
11 am meeting of the Somari at the sports facility.
14,30 pm departure of the donkeys representing the 8 districts from the Town Hall accompanied by the Band of the Passatore di Brisighella and the s'ciucarèn (whipsers).
15 pm arrival in piazza Roma presentation to the people.
15,30 pm show at the donkey course of the City of Dozza Band and by the s'ciucarèn (whipsers).
16 pm departure for Asinodromo.
16,40 pm 2nd round of the donkey race.
17,30 pm award ceremony of the District.
19,00 end of the distribution of the pièdina.
