Total positives
The latest update from the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d'Aosta on the swine fever, relating to the period up to February 1, 2026. The total number of positive cases in wild boars rises to 2.008. They rise to 800 in Piedmont, and to 1.208 in Liguria.
The cases of Piedmont
Outbreaks in pig farms remain at nine. In Piedmont, a new positive case was observed in wild boars in Ponti, in the province of Alessandria (the second case). The total in the region has risen to 800 cases.
Liguria
In Liguria, eight new positive cases have been found in wild boars: two in the province of Genoa, one in Avegno (third case), one in Castiglione Chiavarese (ten); six in the province of Savona, all in Sassello (69). The total in the region rises to 1.208 cases. The number of municipalities in which at least one positive case of African Swine Fever has been observed remains unchanged at 190.
