Very interesting observations on the step 2025 of the Italian Wood Pigeon Club dated October 30: “It's certainly a great pleasure to know that around 80.000 wood pigeons have been recorded in transit in Falsterbo over the last 4-5 days: the migration is therefore not over. Based on the weather forecast, there is a real possibility of seeing a significant influx of wood pigeons in our central-northern regions in the coming days.".
Weather and wintering
"PA rising over Italy and much of Northern/Eastern Europe, absence of phenomena, apart from a fast disturbance next Sunday, winds from the north-east quadrants should pave the way for the entry of contingents of wood pigeons still on their way to reach their wintering places".
The peak is expected for tomorrow
"Add to this that the "Lunatics," those who believe the moon has a significant influence on migration, had predicted a peak migration in our country around November 5th, during the full moon. We'd be happy to see if their prediction comes true... also because, if so, the migration should continue, and the wood pigeons' numbers could continue, decreasing, until November 20th, coinciding with the new lunation.
