Hunting and Weapons: new rules for the possession of weapons at home contained in the DL n.121 / 2013.
With the legislative decree number 121 of 29 September 2013, the law that regulates the possession of weapons in the home, for all those who do not have a firearm license, changed. In particular, paragraph 2 of article 6 states that "within 18 months of the entry into force of this decree (starting from 5 November last, ed.) The holders of weapons [...] must produce by 4 May 2015 the medical certificate of suitability for the possession of common firearms provided for by article 35, seventh paragraph, of the royal decree of 18 June 1931, number 773, unless it has already been produced in the six years prior to the date of entry into force of this provision .
After eighteen months it is always possible to present the certificate within 30 days following receipt of the warning by the competent public security office ". In other words, there is time until early May 2015 to comply without too many worries of mind; after which, if you fail to produce the due certification, you will have to wait for the warning from the police station and from that moment on, another 30 days will be available to re-enter the law.
The Federcaccia di Spoleto office is available for all citizens who wish to obtain more information regarding the possession of weapons at home, or who need help with the investigation of the practice that allows them to comply. According to a first estimate, this is a problem that affects no less than 2 families from Spoleto; the most classic case is that of the hunter grandfather who, once deceased, leaves it to his children or grandchildren who do not have firearms license, the rifle that had belonged to him. The Spoleto police station will shortly send an information notice to all residents affected by this kind of situation, while Federcaccia will try to simplify the task of the police and citizens by providing them with valid support from a bureaucratic and medical-health point of view.
