Happy ending
The search for an 80-year-old German man missing since Thursday, August 13, in the Micciano area of the municipality of Pomarance in the province of Pisa has concluded successfully . The elderly man was located on the afternoon of Friday, August 14, in a particularly inaccessible area. After being reached by rescuers, he was rescued by the Pegaso air ambulance and transported to Siena Hospital. The complex operation, coordinated by the Prefecture of Pisa, involved the Fire Department, Civil Protection, Carabinieri, Municipal Police, healthcare workers, and numerous volunteers.
Fundamental contribution
Also crucial was the contribution of four members of Federcaccia-UCT Micciano, members of the "Valle dell'Adio" wild boar hunting team, Micciano-Libbiano. Thanks to their in-depth knowledge of the area, they helped coordinate search operations in the most inaccessible areas, offering their experience, knowledge of the trails, and local specialties. This tangible contribution, offered in service to the community, takes on even greater significance at a time when the positive role of hunters in protecting the territory has been called into question.

Regardless of the controversy surrounding those who continue to attack the hunting world, today, one simple fact remains: a life was saved thanks in part to the hunters' contribution.
