The Management Office of the Roccolo Park communicates that, following a report of alleged damage by large carnivores to livestock at a farm in the Municipality of Arluno (in the province of Milan), the official verification protocol was immediately activated.
The perpetrator of the predation
Over the weekend, the farmer promptly contacted the Milan Metropolitan Police (Fishing and Hunting Unit), who conducted the necessary technical surveys as per standard practice. Until the data and survey results are analyzed, it is not possible to definitively identify the perpetrator of the predation. The Management Authority emphasizes that correct identification (wolf, stray dog, or other predator) requires rigorous technical and scientific assessment.
Alarmism to avoid
The Lombardy Park has therefore invited citizens and the media to refer exclusively to the Park's official press releases and to refrain from speculation or the dissemination of unverified news, in order to avoid unnecessary and harmful alarmism.
