The reform CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) to equate the sheep and goat sector to other farms; the revival of the amendment to the Regional legislation ofAbruzzo (Amendment to LR 25/88 proposed with art.9 LR 9/2020) for the use of civic uses for grazing purposes; the battle to reduce the presence of pests (wildlife) throughout the territory to a level of sustainability; the impact of expensive energy on the sector are just some of the issues discussed during the XNUMXth elective assembly CIA (Italian Farmers Confederation) L'Aquila Teramo, which took place in the headquarters of the Gran Sasso Chamber of Commerce in L'Aquila.
The Assembly was an opportunity to take stock of the agricultural sector, in the presence of numerous institutional guests, including the Councilor for Agriculture of the Abruzzo Region, Emanuele Imprudente, the delegate of the mayor of L'Aquila, the municipal councilor Giancarlo Della Pelle, the president of the Gran Sasso d'Italia Chamber of Commerce, Antonella Ballone and the director of the National CIA Claudia Merlino. The problem of wildlife damage it is very heavy on the whole territory, in particular the ungulates. Added to this is the spread of PSA (Swine Vesicular Plague) which is also affecting wildlife.
Farmers ask extraordinary measures for the eradication of wild boars in particular. Farmers are asking for an intervention to modify the L.157 which allows for the management of the fauna not only for the protection of non-native species that are harmful to the environment. Another very serious problem is linked to the overabundance of deer and roe deer, which damage valuable crops such as vineyards, olive trees and truffle plants. The extraordinary government and regional intervention to cushion the impact of expensive energy must act on the value chain. (HANDLE).
