Emergency in progress
Are there any updates regarding the emergency situation of the African swine fever and unfortunately the news is not good. The note released by the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Piedmont Liguria and Valle d'Aosta makes it clear that in this case we cannot lower our guard even for a second.
New infections in detail
This is the press release from the IZS: "In Piedmont, three new positive cases have been observed among wild boars: all in the province of Alessandria: one in Arquata Scrivia (twenty-two cases), one in Molare (seventeen), one in Ponzone (forty-one). The total in the region has grown to 691 cases. No new outbreaks have been reported in pig farms in Piedmont".
Stable situation but not too much
The note adds: "No new positive cases have been found in Liguria. The total remains stable in the region at 1050. The number of municipalities in which at least one positive case of African Swine Fever has been observed remains stable at 170".
