Arci Caccia Massa Carrara wrote a letter to The Tuscan Regional Authority requesting the removal from the draft PFVR of the Areas prohibiting the establishment of new fixed posts in the coastal area: "Having seen the cartography of the areas prohibited from issuing authorizations for new stakeouts for the province of Massa Carrara, referred to in point 2.7 of the evaluation section of the PFVR proposal vol. II, in which this restriction is maintained for the entire territory included in the coastal area of the municipalities of Massa, Carrara, Montignoso and Fosdinovo".
Decrease in authorizations
This association requests its revision by reducing this ban for this reason:
"The massive erosion of the number of individuals practicing this form of hunting, which will result in an exponential decrease in the authorizations granted, and the consequent loss of the high environmental value of this form of hunting".
Hunting sites
The message continues: “A practice which, in many cases, represents a barrier to the abandonment of the territory, in light of the care dedicated to the creation of hunting sites, also through the planting of botanical species important for migratory birds both in the opening and closing periods of the hunting activity. The overall number of fixed stakeouts in the province of Massa Carrara, much lower than the average of the other provinces of Tuscany” (source: Arci Caccia).
