Preparations are underway at the Malakasa Shooting Range in Athens for the official launch of the 2025 World Clay Shooting ChampionshipThe Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 9th, but the platforms at the facility located fifty kilometers from the Greek capital are already in full swing. A total of 406 athletes representing 68 nations will take part in the World Championships. The first to arrive were the Skeet specialists, who will have the opportunity to test the facility starting today.
The blue team
The Italian team, led by Technical Director Luigi Agostino Lodde, arrived in Greece yesterday afternoon, accompanied by Head of Mission Fiorenzo De Rosa and Physiotherapist Aldo Humberto Bionda. Representing the Italian national team will be Gabriele Rossetti (Fiamme Oro) from Ponte Buggianese (PT), Erik Pittini (Fiamme Oro) from Sutrio (UD), and Valerio Palmucci (Fiamme Oro) from Fiano Romano (RM) for the men, and Chiara Di Marziantonio (Army) from Cerenova (RM), Diana Bacosi (Army) from Cetona (SI), and Simona Scocchetti (Army) from Tarquinia (VT) for the women.
First dates
Their first official appointment will be with the Pre-Competition Training on Thursday, October 9th, while the competition itself will begin on Friday, October 10th with the first 50 qualifying clays. It will continue on Saturday, October 11th with another 50 clays and conclude with the last 25 qualifying clays and the finals on Sunday, October 12th. Also in Athens on Sunday will be Technical Director Marco Conti's Trap specialists, who for the occasion will field Mauro De Filippis (Fiamme Oro) from Taranto, Massimo Fabbrizi (Carabinieri) from Monteprandone (AP) and Giovanni Pellielo (Fiamme Azzurre) from Vercelli for the men, and Silvana Maria Stanco (Fiamme Gialle) from Sturno (AV), Alessia Iezzi (Carabinieri) from Manoppello (PE) and Valentina Panza (Carabinieri) from Rose (CS). Their first commitment will be with the Official Training on Tuesday 14 October (source: FITAV).
