The case of Cremonese
Several problems related to avian influenza have been reported in Lombardy. Following the recent confirmation of an outbreak of bird flu (HPAI) at a poultry farm located in the municipality of Casale Cremasco-Vidolasco, in the province of Cremona, health authorities have established a surveillance zone with a 10-kilometer radius from the affected farm. The surveillance zone includes numerous farms and directly affects the following municipalities in the province of Bergamo: Antegnate, Barbata, Bariano, Calcio, Calvenzano, Caravaggio, Covo, Fara Olivana con Sola, Fontanella, Fornovo San Giovanni, Isso, Misano Di Gera D'Adda, Morengo, Mozzanica, Pagazzano, Pumenengo, Romano di Lombardia, and Torre Pallavicina.
What changes for hunters
What changes for the hunting industry? Hunters and hunting professionals operating within the 10km surveillance zone are immediately subject to specific restrictions. Specifically, the release of feathered game birds for restocking is prohibited, as is the use of live decoys belonging to the Anseriformes and Charadriiformes orders in mobile and fixed hides. The birds must remain at their location and not be moved for any reason.
Other affected areas
Another protection and surveillance zone has been established following the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) at a turkey farm in the municipality of Seniga (BS). The Protection Zone, as outlined on the map, includes the municipalities of Alfianello, Milzano, Pralboino, and Seniga, while the Surveillance Zone extends to the municipalities of Alfianello, Milzano, Pralboino, Seniga, Bassano Bresciano, Cigole, Gambara, Gottolengo, Leno, Manerbio, Pavone del Mella, Pontevico, San Gervasio Bresciano, Verolanuova, and Verolavecchia.
Surveillance zone
Finally, given the positivity to the influenza virus type a, subtype h5, at a farm in Zelo Buon Persico (LO), the avian influenza surveillance zone is established which includes the municipalities of: Boffalora d'Adda, Casaletto Lodigiano, Casalmaiocco, Cervignano d'Adda, Comazzo, Cornegliano Laudense, Corte Palasio, Crespiatica, Galgagnano, Lodi, Lodi Vecchio, Merlino, Montanaso Lombardo, Mulazzano, Pieve Fissiraga, Salerano sul Lambro, Sordio, Tavazzano with Villavesco, Zelo Buon Persico, Cerro al Lambro, Colturano, Dresano, Liscate, Mediglia, Melegnano, Pantigliate, Paullo, San Giuliano Milanese, San Zenone al Lambro, Settala, Tribiano, Truccazzano and Vizzolo Predabissi and which involves 43 farms indicated in Annex no. 3, falling within the Municipalities of: Boffalora d'Adda, Comazzo, Corte Palasio, Crespiatica, Lodi, Lodi Vecchio, Merlino, Montanaso Lombardo, Mulazzano, Sordio, Tavazzano with Villavesco, Zelo Buon Persico, Colturano, Dresano, Liscate, Mediglia, Pantigliate, Paullo, San Giuliano Milanese, San Zenone al Lambro, Settala, Tribiano.
