In relation to the press articles regarding the presence of a bear Given the bear's confident behavior in Cadine in May, the Wildlife Service specifies that the situation has been monitored since the first incident by the Trentino Forestry Corps, which promptly initiated the necessary checks and planned monitoring activities. The first report dates back to the evening of May 27, when a resident reported—via the single emergency number 1-1-2—the passage of a young bear in her garden. The animal approached the building and knocked over a plastic bin containing water. A second report was received on the afternoon of May 30: following the incident, forestry personnel were deployed to the area, with the potential subsequent implementation of deterrent measures. Since then, no bears have been reported in the village.
Evaluation of reports
The occasional presence of large carnivores, even near inhabited areas, is a possible occurrence and is constantly monitored by the competent provincial authorities. Each report is carefully evaluated to adopt possible management measures, particularly aimed at deterring bears that are developing friendly behavior.

In this regard, it is essential to prevent wild animals from finding attractive features in populated areas. Therefore, it is recommended to always report the presence of large carnivores to the relevant forestry stations and, in case of emergency, to the single emergency number 1-1-2. It is also important to remember the importance of adopting prevention rules and that the Province provides electric fences on free loan for the protection of property and businesses.
