Raffaello is a very well known and appreciated name in Benelli range and identifies the family of high-end semiautomatics. Today with the denomination Ethos the offer expands to a small caliber destined to satisfy a large number of shooting enthusiasts, thanks to its qualities of lightness, strength, ease and practicality of use. Benelli is always attentive to the needs of hunters: in addition to having developed the largest range in 12 gauge, its philosophy has also placed the utmost care in the production of the smaller caliber. Raphael Ethos 20 it is a semi-automatic that best represents the elegant, light and sporty shotgun. Being the younger brother of the Raffaello cal. 12 proposes the same lines and the same set-up. A shotgun weighing only 2.570 grams that can fire loads ranging from 24 to 36 grams, challenging even the most intensive use with the heaviest loads. Historically, Benelli has always taken the recoil problem into consideration, which he has remedied in recent years with Comfortech and Comfortech plus stocks. However, these systems are only present on models with technopolymer stock. The semi-automatic with wooden stock until quite recently remained without a damping system. Only with the Raffaello Power Bore was it possible to respond to this need thanks to the Progressive Comfort patent. This advanced solution is now also adapted for the Raffaello Ethos 20 gauge. The system patented by Benelli progressively reduces the sensation of recoil and is activated gradually even with the lightest charges. The mechanism inserted in the stock and connected to the butt plate allows for greater shock absorption, minimizing vibrations and the rifle lift. This ensures maximum shotgun stability and the best control for quick aiming.
Raffaello Ethos is a semi-automatic that boasts the merit of lightness, but at the same time also of extreme robustness. The last born of the house Benelli is chambered 20 magnums: it can fire any CIP-compliant cartridge that has a kinetic energy at one meter from the muzzle of not less than 190 kgm. The design is characterized by slim and dry lines that also give a visual impression of the lightness of the rifle, of its maximum maneuverability and the fact that it has been designed to better interface with the shooter. A Benelli hunting semiautomatic can only have the inertial release geometric lock; the shutter group of the Raffaello-Ethos 20 apparently does not differ much from that of the "brothers", but has an edge over all the closures of the same type existing on the market today, with the exception of the 12 gauge Raffaello, who have been endowed with it from the outset.
A shotgun designed in the name of excellence can clearly only have an excellent barrel for ballistic performance. Adopt one in fact Power Bore Crio barrel with carbon fiber rib e Criochoke chokes. Like all Benelli barrels, also the three barrels available for the Raffaello-Ethos 20 (lengths 61, 66, 71 cm) guarantee all the robustness deriving from cryogenic tempering. There rib in carbon fiber then, in addition to reducing the weight of the barrel, in the event of overheating it offers the advantage, thanks to the particular anchoring system, of not creating constraints that interfere with the vibratory rate of the shot and with the expansion-contraction one. The rib is there, but it is as if it were not there and it is also thanks (but not only) to the magic rib that the barrels of the Raffaello-Ethos 20 can fire until they are red-hot without the slightest variation in the relationship between the center of shot pattern and aiming point. Speaking of aiming, similarly to what happens in the older brother, too the barrels of the Raffaello-Ethos 20 are equipped with a new high visibility fiber optic front sight, easily replaceable and supplied with the speargun in three different colors: red (assembled), yellow and green.
With the Raphaeles, a new design rod was introduced, which is readapted, further "slimmed down", on the Raffaello-Ethos 20. The advantage of this innovation is to further facilitate the grip and quick rearrangement of the hand, with surprising results here perhaps even more than on the larger caliber. The fore-end and stock are made of a precious European walnut with WOOD FX treatment: knurled areas are present on the fore-end and on the butt pistol, particularly slim and designed to allow the hand a natural and comfortable position for the wrist. In this way, the hand holds the butt pistol always in the same position, eliminating a variable that can cause nasty surprises, especially when shooting from the shoulder. To complete the comfort features of the stock we find, also in this case as on the larger brothers, the interchangeable nose pad in special polyurethane which makes the contact between butt and cheek much softer. Raffaello Ethos 20 ga, a simply unique semiautomatic, with elegant lines, light, extremely handy, comfortable, precise and extremely practical.
very beautiful and very practical
