A very precise picture
The Pietro Beretta Arms Factory continues to rightly celebrate its 500th anniversary, a celebration that, however, doesn't distract the Gardone Val Trompia-based company from monitoring its various market sectors. CEO and General Manager Carlo Ferlito delved into the matter at the The European House – Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio. A very peculiar picture emerged.
The changing market
First and foremost, the defense sector is growing at a significant rate, double digits to be precise, although Ferlito emphasized that the market can change very quickly. The civilian sector, moreover, remains Beretta's strong point. Both hunting and sport shooting are maintaining stable trends, capable of stabilizing the aforementioned fluctuations in military demand.
Factory and group
In numerical terms, this is the picture Ferlito paints: "If we look at Fabbrica d'Armi, we're 50% civilian and 50% defense. If we look at the group, however, we're talking about 70% civilian and 30% defense," with the latter component growing.
