Internal initiative
The internal contest promoted by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta to select the crew that will drive the historic 1947 Fiat 1100 Monviso “Stella Alpina” in the next edition of the 1000 Miglia has just concluded. The initiative is part of the calendar of celebrations for the 500 years of the company, in a particularly symbolic year that will also see the 1000 Miglia move to the Beretta factory on June 9th, a moment of great historical and identity significance. Therefore, we thank ACI Brescia and the 1000 Miglia team for this great opportunity. The contest saw extraordinary participation: 221 employees took part in the initial phase, 69 in the quiz selection process, and 20 participants were admitted to the final practical tests. The final selections took place at Beretta Due and included a lesson in regularity racing and a technical test on the "tubes" track, a key element in historic regularity competitions.
The Brescia Corse Racing Team
A key contribution came from Scuderia Brescia Corse, a historic organization linked to the Mille Miglia, founded by Ugo Gussalli Beretta and now led by Carlo Gussalli Beretta. They provided participants with a lesson on the authentic rudiments of regularity racing. At the end of the trials, a ranking was drawn up, which led to the selection of the 10 finalist pairs, culminating in the announcement of the winning pair who will represent the company along the Freccia Rossa route. This unique opportunity was won by the pair of Alessia Mangili (production engineer) and Andrea Rizzini (firearms testing coordinator).
Attention to detail
"The 1000 Miglia is not just a car race, but an exercise in precision, respect for the rules, and attention to detail," said Franco Gussalli Beretta, President of Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. "These are values that I deeply identify with in the history and culture of our company. Like Beretta, the 1000 Miglia rewards those who know how to do things well over time, with method and responsibility. This contest perfectly embodied that spirit." The President then added: "The winning crew distinguished itself through balance, precision, and the ability to work together, perfectly embodying the values of historic regularity. Qualities that are also inherent in the company's working methods." With this project, Beretta celebrates five centuries of history while looking to the future, strengthening the bond between tradition, expertise, and passion that has always characterized the company (source: Beretta).
