A few days after the first stance,Lombard Hunters Association she went back to talking about the organization CABS. The abbreviation identifies the Committee Against Bird Slaughter, that is the committee against the slaughter of birds, in practice an anti-poaching association based in Germany. Although its representatives are German, they have been seen intervening in the Bresciano and Bergamasco areas, but also in other parts of Italy. ACL decided to make it clear and turned to Prefect of Brescia to understand who these people are, their powers and who they work for.
The meeting took place yesterday morning, Tuesday 8 November 2016. The Prefecture answered all the questions, specifying how there are no special authorizations for CABS: in reality they are free EU citizens and have the right to search the woods and plains of our country. However, they are not public officials and cannot even investigate in Italy. Their only job is to report poaching or environmental damage to those in charge.
These environmentalists have been active for years now, and ACL seems to have been the only association interested in the fact. The same Lombard Prefecture will branch out in the next few days an official statement to explain every detail. The Lombard Hunters have confirmed their opposition to poachers, however distancing themselves from what they seem paramilitary bodies who also rage against honest hunters.
