After the interesting last week's update, the scientific ringing station "Pass del Brocon", on the border between the Trentino municipalities of Cinte Tesino and Castello Tesino, this time the conclusion of the twentieth catching season. It is one of the main regional crossings for what concerns the migration of birds and during this season the passage has been scarce and anomalous to say the least. In particular, the anomalies concerned finches, brambles and rulers.
On the contrary, there was no shortage of various species of motacillids (for example, prispole and prispoloni) that frequented the area in large numbers. There were also numerous birds of prey. The final balance was 2732 ringed birds: the primacy goes to robins (1609 specimens to be exact), i finches (239), i song thrushes (115), the cruises (109) and the peepholes (102)
Furthermore, among the most interesting catches, the Trentino station wanted to remember those of 10 kestrels, 9 sparrow hawks, 10 owls, 5 dwarf owls, 6 woodcocks and 6 black woodpeckers. A final figure completes the picture, namely that of the recaptures that were two: it is the big owl with the ring of Belgium and cruises with the ring of Slovenia.
