Hunting in Tuscany: (Adnkronos) - The Regional Administrative Court of Tuscany yesterday issued the order rejecting the appeal of some anti-hunting organizations that asked for the cancellation, after immediate suspension, of the parts of the hunting calendar that provide for hunting partridge from 15 September to 30 November and woodcock until 20 January.
The appeal, in practice, asked to completely ban the collection of partridge and to bring the closure of the woodcock hunt to December 31st. The hunting calendar remains perfectly intact. The news was made known, with a joint statement, by Federcaccia Toscana and Arcicaccia Toscana. In the meantime, the TAR rejected the request for immediate suspension, with "specific reasons that substantially accept the arguments set out, as well as by the Region, in the joint memorandum presented by Federcaccia and Arcicaccia": the opinion of Ispra, the two associations recall, is mandatory but not binding and the Region, in the parts in which it has deviated from the opinion itself, has justified "congruously in relation to the reasons" producing precise scientific contributions which, in some cases, are "more recent than the contributions made at the basis" of the opinion of the Institute.
