Appeal to the Council of State
“We find the ruling issued by the TAR Calabria which annuls the Resolution approving the Regional hunting calendar for the 2024/25 season in the part that provided for the closure on January 30 of the hunting of the song thrush, the redwing and the fieldfare and its anticipation to January 9, 2025. For this reason in the hours following its publication as Federcaccia we gave the mandate to proceed with the appeal to the Council of State, after we, the only hunting association, had already intervened ad opponendum to the TAR alongside the Region against the appeal". Thus the regional President and national Vice President Giuseppe Giordano, commenting on the decision of the Calabrian Regional Administrative Court.
Considerations that cannot be shared
“In our opinion, the considerations expressed by the administrative judges are different and we do not find them acceptable – continued Giordano – starting from the fact that the TAR cannot replace the Region and impose the date of January 9 instead of January 30”.

“Also unacceptable is the position expressed in the Sentence, which considers the Ispra opinion, the Italian KCs and the Atlas of Migrations, on which the TAR based its decisions, to be practically binding. For this and other reasons, after having discussed it with the Lawyers Alberto Maria Bruni and Biagio Di Vece who represent us and whom I take this opportunity to thank for their commitment and constant attention, we will appeal this absurd sentence.”
