The Commissioner's Choice
The PSA emergency commissioner Giovanni Filippini has granted the Region the exemption for wild boar hunting in the drive and selection mode in Zone 1. Federcaccia expresses its appreciation for the decision taken, which took into account the actual conditions in Calabria, of the requests of the same association and of the hunting world and of the work carried out jointly by the Health Department and the Department of Agriculture and awaiting the publication of the provision by the Region.
Local communities
At the same time, a cordial good luck was expressed to the teams and hunters operating in the metropolitan area of Reggio Calabria belonging to Zone 1 for the start of the hunting season, which is of fundamental importance for the local communities, also to mitigate the damage and problems to agriculture as well as constituting an equally fundamental monitoring and surveillance activity to combat the very serious problem of PSA.
The ATCs concerned
After this important step, we ask the Region for the same commitment through the two interested ATCs to start the equally fundamental wild boar depopulation activities in zone 2 (Federcaccia Calabria).
