A week ago there Regional Council of Calabria officially approved the hunting calendar 2016-2017. This is resolution number 295, discussed last July 28: obviously, the ideas to be explored are different. The start of the hunting season has been set for Sunday 4 September 2016 for what concerns the dove, the wood pigeon, the hooded crow, the jay and the magpie: we are talking about hunting exclusively from stalking, a sampling that will last exactly one week.
The general closure of the calendar, on the other hand, is scheduled for 30 January 2017. Then there is another period to refer to. In fact, from 18 September to 3 January hunting will be allowed throughout Calabria for three days each week. The days must be chosen by the hunter between Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, while they cannot be taken into consideration the two days of hunting silence, ie Tuesday and Friday. Very important are the game bag limits.
With regard to sedentary game, for example, hunters will be able to kill one common hare per hunting day (3 for the whole season), two pheasants (10 total heads), 20 foxes, 20 crows and 20 magpies. In addition, each team will have the opportunity to withdraw 12 wild boars per day. Finally, there will be 25 maximum animals per hunter and hunting day for migratory game.
