In relation to the news that has been circulating in the last few hours both on the media and on the web-social network, the Regional coordination of the AA.VV deems it necessary to provide detailed and precise information on the effects as a result of the precautionary order, issued by Tar Calabria on 25 September us First of all, it is good to clarify and underline that the hunting activity has not been suspended, nor has the regional hunting calendar been suspended. The precautionary measure has effectively suspended the collection of two species - pochard and lapwing -; contested the duration of the withdrawal times for some pre-opening species (Colombaccio, Gazza, Ghiandaia and Cornacchia Grigia), for which it established the anticipation of closure; finally, it inhibited hunting activities in the areas included in the Natura 2000 network (SIC-SPA), since it deemed it necessary to subject the Hunting Calendar to the Environmental Impact Assessment procedure, recalling for this reason the pronouncement of the Tar Liguria of 7 August 2020 (section II n. 570), on the Ligurian Hunting Calendar of the current season.
In addition to the Calabria Region, Federcaccia Nazionale and Federcaccia Calabria were formed in the judgment for the protection and defense of the Calendar and the rights of the hunting world, sponsored by the lawyer Alberto Bruni. The precautionary order was issued following the umpteenth recourse to the hunting calendar, advanced by some environmental associations, at the Regional Administrative Court of Calabria on 3 September 2020 against the Region. It should be noted that the TAR accepted "cautiously" and not definitively, setting the hearing on March 24, 2021, only a part of the complaints made. For the umpteenth time it has instead considered the overall layout of the same calendar valid, the dates and times of sampling of almost all the species with the sole exception of pochard and lapwing, and has further sanctioned the validity of the fauna plan and the other provisions contained.
In order not to jeopardize or minimize the period of suspension of hunting in SPA and SCI areas, Federcaccia with the help of its own research office and technical-legal consultants, together with the Regional Coordination of the AA.VV., proposed those solutions and the path to be adopted, which as happened similarly for the Calendar of the Liguria Region, allowed the rapid and effective restoration of the hunting activity in these areas, complying with as established by the precautionary judgment. As well as consolidated custom, we remain committed without interruption to guarantee in coordination with the other Regional Hunting Associations making up the Faunal-Hunting Council, full collaboration with the competent Departments of the Calabria Region, requesting and at the same time hoping for maximum speed in the experimentation of the provisions of its competence so that the hunting season in the Natura 2000 Network areas undergoes the slightest interruption The Coordination of the Regional Hunting Associations Federcaccia-Anlc-Anuu-Arcicaccia-Enalcaccia-Eps-Italcaccia).
