The renunciation
The Campania Regional Administrative Court, with sentence no. 3473/2025 published on 29 April 2025, rejected the appeal lodged by environmentalist/animalist associations against the 2024/25 hunting calendar, declaring it partly inadmissible, following the latter's renunciation of some grounds for appeal, and unfounded in the part in which the decision to set the closing date for 20 January was criticised. turdidae hunting. The Administrative Court, thanks to the excellent work of lawyers Bruni and Pisaturo, fully accepted the theses and requests supported by Federcaccia Campania, which intervened ad opponendum in support of the Campania Region.
Upcoming hunting calendars
The acceptance of the arguments put forward by Federcaccia Campania has allowed the Campania TAR to affirm some important principles which will certainly be decisive not only for the drafting of the next hunting calendars but also for any other appeals against the next hunting calendars by the aforementioned environmentalist/animalist associations.
Use of telemetry
Of particular importance is to highlight, among others, the statement that the Key Concepts represent the result of a mere investigative activity and have no legally binding effect and that the Region fulfills the burden of the strengthened motivation by referring to the sources of scientific information indicated by the European Commission, including the use of telemetry as well as the statement that the thrushes begin their prenuptial migration between the last ten days of January and the first of February. Federcaccia Campania together with Federcaccia Nazionale with its law firm and the Office of Studies and Research finally sees the battles supported and undertaken, in the interest of its members, not only in the courtrooms of the Administrative Courts but in every location and aimed at affirming the truth of the facts, finally partially accepted.
