Hunting: Campania, we are now in the middle of June and there is still no news of the new regional hunting calendar for the next 2013-2014 season.
On 18 April, the Regional Wildlife Hunting Technical Committee elaborated and approved the draft of the Hunting Calendar, for the 2013-2014 vintage. 49 days have already passed since then, without any news leaking from the institutional tables. In the complete disregard of the Hunting Associations and, why not, of the majority of hunters. Not a gasp, not a groan to show that the patient is still alive.
In fact, we are also still awaiting the expected opinion of ISPRA, a necessary element to be able to continue the training process of the Calendar. In short: "live the horse that the grass grows !!". In fact, not only are we awaiting the opinion of ISPRA, former INFS but not former environmentalists, but we are very sure that this opinion will be negative. Because precisely, this Institute is largely made up of environmentalists, because the guidelines are made at a national and not a regional level (and you know Italy is a boot that extends in length and therefore what could be right for the Valle d'Aosta is not always right even for Campania or Sicily) and again because scientific and sector studies, to be magnanimous, are made, let's say, "in the Italian style".
This is why we reiterate the sacrosanct need to equip ourselves, as soon as possible, with a Regional Wildlife Observatory. Necessary tool to counter ISPRA opinions with serious, articulated and reliable scientific data. Conversely, this year too, while many other regions have already issued their 2013-2014 Hunting Calendar, we are light years behind. due opinions, the Hunting Associations play the game of the three monkeys (they do not see, do not hear and do not speak), the hunters are waiting for a miracle that does not arrive and the only ones to gloat are the Environmentalist Associations which, in this sea of hesitations, find lifeblood.
Needless to say, even the Campania Region, with its Council that makes tissue paper, enters this chaos of uncertainties. In fact, called on 5 cm to discuss the maxi-amendment for the modification of regional law n. 26/2012 l the Board did not discuss anything and the session was postponed, perhaps waiting for better times, to day 12. We expect, however, that on that date, finally, something will move and the two amendments most dear to us, namely the establishment of the Regional Wildlife Observatory and the re-perimeter of the areas forbidden to hunting by and no more than 30%, leaving the remaining 70% of the agro-forestry-pastoral territory free for hunting, as sanctioned and foreseen (but always disregarded) by law 157/92.
We remind the insiders, if there was still a need, that “vigilantibus iura succurunt non dormientibus” and we were born precisely to keep watch. This is one of the few points of certainty, so be sure that, in the absence of resolutive actions, the warning sent by us will turn into a formal complaint to the AG so that it can verify whether in their behavior they recognize extremes of crime, such as, for example, explanatory but non-exhaustive, omissions of official acts and interruption of public service.
