The acronyms that appealed
The Regional Administrative Court of Campania (Third Section) ruled with Decree on the appeal brought by the Italian League for the Protection of Birds (LIPU) Odv, National Animal Protection Agency (ENPA) Odv, Wwf Italia -ETS, Lndc – Animal Protection Aps, Lav Lega Anti Vivisection, Ets, nei comparisons of the Resolutions of the Campania Region, regarding the pre-opening and the Hunting Calendar.
The parts to be modified
The TAR accepted the precautionary request and suspended the contested acts, therefore “the Resolution of the Regional Council 31/7/2024 n. 414, containing “Art. 24, paragraph 1 LR 26/2012 et seq. mm. ii.. Approval of the regional hunting calendar for the 2024/2025 hunting year”, published in BURC n. 55 of 05.8.2024 in the part in which:
b.1.) in the paragraph "hunting exercise - pre-opening sampling", authorizes the sampling of the Cornacchia, Magpie, Jay and Wood Pigeon species on 1-4-7-8-11 September 2024;
b.2) in the paragraph "hunting exercise", authorizes the taking of the quail, pheasant, water rail and wood pigeon species from 15 September 2024, rather than from the different date respectively indicated for the various species by the technical bodies".
The Council Chamber
By virtue of this Decree therefore, the pre-opening and harvesting of quail, pheasant, water rail and wood pigeon is suspended in Campania until 24 September, the day on which the council chamber was set for collegial discussion (source: Federcaccia).
