Wildlife accident: Cassino, a man dies following a road accident caused by the impact with a wild boar that suddenly crossed the roadway.
A 55-year-old man, PG, residing in via San Pasquale, lost his life this morning around 4 am along the Casilina Nord road, on the border between Cassino and Villa Santa Lucia. In the car with the victim, sat a friend who was transported to the “Santa Scolastica” hospital for investigations but who did not sustain any significant injuries. The dynamics of the accident, now being examined by the Cassino Traffic Police - the Fire Brigade, 118 vehicles and a provincial police patrol intervened on the spot - seems to revolve around the sudden crossing of the road by a wild boar . The car driven by PG has hit the animal in full, the latter ended up in a ditch.
The car continued its run until it crashed into a reinforced concrete wall at the Conad supermarket. Evidently, the collision with the animal was so violent that it knocked the driver unconscious and, after the first impact, he did not deviate or slow down in its trajectory. The 55-year-old is well known in the city also because he collaborated with public establishments, including as a valet.
