The areas most affected by ungulates
The Territorial Hunting Area of Caserta welcomes Coldiretti Caserta's proposal relating to the identification of a group of selectors who can intervene in the areas most affected by the presence of wild boars. A note from the agricultural association explains this, which speaks of "the first important result obtained in the fight against damage to crops caused by wild boars which are plaguing the entire territory with very serious damage to the agricultural sector.
Massive presence
In particular, Coldiretti Caserta has proposed the establishment of a toll-free number to give the possibility of promptly and directly reporting any damage and threats deriving from a massive presence of wild boars in a given territory. For the director of Coldiretti Caserta, Giuseppe Miselli, “damage from wild boars in the entire region is estimated at over 4 million euros, resources that could be used to modernize a sector, that of agriculture, which is a driving force for the local economy. ”
Crops at risk
“We need to move – adds Miselli – before yet another season in which farmers are then forced to count the damage. Maximum attention to vineyards, olive groves, chestnut groves and herbaceous crops, so that the presence of wild boars does not bring many entrepreneurs to their knees. Or worse yet, that these animals could cause risks to the safety of citizens traveling on our roads.”
