Very precise numbers
Coldiretti Veneto met with the coordinator of the Provincial Police, Oscar Da Rold, to discuss the issue of wildlife and, in particular, the uncontrolled presence of wild boars in the area. The goal is clear: to reduce the current 7.625 wild boars killed by 2024 to 11.000 headsThis is a necessary measure to protect agriculture, the environment, and public safety.
New operational lines
How will this result be achieved? Through the implementation of the new regional operational guidelines, which include:
- Increase in the number of people authorized to carry out culling (including certified selectors, law enforcement, farmers, and bioregulators);
- Expansion of equipment: weapons (including compressed air over 7,5 joules), thermal optics, night vision goggles, rangefinders, noise attenuation instruments;
- Introduction of a computerized system for citizens to report wild boars and for hunters to book operations.
Monitoring
Everything will be monitored through a single regional system, with monthly updates on sampling. Coldiretti continues to advocate for a concrete and coordinated approach to wildlife management, protecting agricultural businesses and citizens.
