The big names in the specialty
On Sunday, September 6th, the shooting ranges at the TAV San Martino di Tavullia (PU) will host the Compak Sporting Open 2026 Athlete of the Year Final , an event that will bring together some of the biggest names in the non-Olympic discipline. Participation in the event is open, but limited to 240 shooters, divided into two sections of a maximum of 120 participants each. Section A is reserved for Excellence, First Category, Ladies, Junior, Senior, Veteran, and Master shooters, while Section B will feature specialists in the Second and Third Category. For all shooters, the competition will consist of 100 clays, to be completed throughout the day.
Four series scheduled
At the end of the four series, the rankings for each Category and Qualification will be determined, with the respective 2026 Athlete of the Year titles being awarded. The top six in each Category and the top three in each Qualification, with Veterans and Masters grouped together for the jump-off, will advance to the semifinals with their scores reset to zero. In the event of a tie for access to the semifinals, the position obtained in the 100-target ranking will prevail, without a shoot-off.
Highlight moment
The highlight will be the Athlete of the Year Grand Barrage, in which the six athletes who qualify after the semifinals will start again from scratch and compete on a series of 25 one-shot clays. In the event of a tie for the overall title, five more one-shot clays will decide the winner. The best athlete of the day will receive the Scudetto Tricolore and the 2026 Overall Athlete of the Year Trophy, while the Athletes of the Year in the various classifications will receive their respective diplomas. Federal medals will also be awarded to those who manage to secure a spot on the podium, in addition to the prize money provided by the Federation. The FITAV Regional Summer Championships also continue their local activity, with a single event on Sunday, September 6th at the TAV Vetralla (VT), where the first round of the Lazio Regional Summer Sporting Championship will take place. A weekend to be enjoyed to the fullest with passion, comparison and the healthy values of sport (source: FITAV).
