- An expected reform
"The long-awaited reform of the hunting law meets the needs of agricultural producers and addresses the need, repeatedly expressed by Copagri , to intervene on the regulatory front to identify coordinated methods that can guarantee effective, controlled management of invasive wildlife species and a real balance between them and agricultural activity," Copagri President Tommaso Battista declared to agra press in a statement.
Outdated and outdated content
"The issue of damage caused by wild fauna," the President continued, commenting on the Senate's approval of the bill amending the current law, "is a long-standing problem, rooted in the increasingly urgent need to address the outdated and outdated provisions of Law 157/1992, which dates back over thirty years and is no longer suited to reconciling the natural needs of animals with those of agriculture."
A concrete threat
Battista now hopes for swift approval in the other chamber of Parliament: "The proximity of wild fauna to homes and residential areas, in addition to seriously endangering public safety, is an increasingly concrete threat to citizens, particularly wolves and wild boars, which, in addition to posing a threat to agricultural production, pose numerous health and hygiene issues, both for animals and humans."
