Altruism and civic sense
During the National Assembly of Federcaccia, held today in Rome, a commendation was awarded as "Hunter of the Year" To Dario Mattiauda, member of the Imperia Provincial Section, for his act of great altruism and civic duty demonstrated in July 2025, when he contributed significantly to the recovery of little Allen, the five-year-old boy lost in the woods of Ventimiglia. Each year, with this award, the Italian Hunting Federation expresses its appreciation to those who have distinguished themselves through particular merit or who, through their zeal and dedication to wildlife and hunting, the environment, ethics, or social issues, set a positive example for society of the Federation's work and of the role of the hunter.
The most authentic values
With this recognition, Federcaccia wanted to express its sincere appreciation for an act that embodies the most authentic values of our association: knowledge of the territory, commitment to the community, and a profound respect for life.
An example for all
In presenting the award, the National President emphasized how Dario Mattiauda's commitment and dedication serve as an example for all Federcacciatori, demonstrating that a passion for nature also translates into care, solidarity, and a sense of responsibility toward others. Federcaccia thus renews its gratitude to Dario, a symbol of a hunting lifestyle based on respect, knowledge, and service to the community.
