Who promoted the event
Success for the initiative held on the occasion of EOS Show 2026 in Parma entitled "The Presence of the Wolf: Solutions for a Balanced Coexistence," promoted by the Italian Hunting Federation of Emilia-Romagna together with the Federcaccia Hunters' Coordination, represented on the occasion by coordinator Isabella Villa.
The realities involved
Paolo Pini, National Presidential Councillor of Federcaccia, opened the meeting, highlighting the need to address the issue with a concrete, data-based approach, encouraging discussion among all stakeholders. During the two roundtable discussions, an in-depth debate developed on the repercussions of the wolf's presence—both management- and social-level—and on possible intervention strategies, with input from institutional representatives, agricultural, hunting, and technical-scientific circles. The discussion also highlighted the need to update the relevant regulatory framework: to this end, Federcaccia has committed to actively presenting a formal proposal for its adaptation, in light of the latest legislative developments.
Broad and participatory comparison
Speakers included National President Massimo Buconi, who reiterated the importance of balanced and realistic wildlife management, and Honorable Francesco Bruzzone, who offered his legislative and political input, emphasizing the need for adequate tools to address an increasingly pressing issue. This broad and participatory discussion confirmed that only through dialogue, shared expertise, and responsibilities can effective solutions be found to ensure a balanced coexistence between humans and wildlife, closely intertwined with the diverse territorial realities of our country (source: FIDC).
