Appeals and counter-appeals
The Region is proceeding with a series of acts relating to hunting calendar 2023-24 following the postponement of the hunting season to October 1st set by the TAR order. Yesterday an appeal was presented to the Council of State against the order of the Regional Administrative Court of Bologna, which upheld some suspension measures relating to the 2023/24 hunting calendar. Appeal that will focus on the opening and closing periods of the hunt and on additional days for the October-November period. The appeal was necessary, explains the regional councilor for Agriculture, hunting and fishing Alessio Mammi, "as there are procedural elements that need to be investigated and evaluated".
Specific hunting activities
At the same time, a request was made to obtain a hearing on the merits by December, a request already presented to the Regional Administrative Court on 21 September. We also worked to extend specific hunting activities in December, such as sedentary hunting, to make up for the days lost in September. The Higher Institute for Research and Environmental Protection (Ispra), consulted by the Region, gave a favorable opinion on the extension of the hunt for resident game until 10 December (one week more), for hare, pheasant, gray partridge and red partridge .
Other hunting levies
“Following the TAR order, which blocked the September days, we had made the commitment - Mammi specifies - on this request, to compensate for the lost period at least on permanent hunting”. The Regional Council also approved the hunting of the pochard (diving duck), starting from next October XNUMXst on the basis of the National Management Plan of the State-Regions Conference. “A request – explains Mammi – that came from the hunting world that we managed to reintroduce”. All updates on the situation of the hunting calendar and the news approved by the Council will be communicated in these days to the hunting associations and institutions involved.
