“Good management of the wild boar species, aimed at preventing damage to agricultural crops, first of all passes through a path of consultation of the forms of levy not only with farmers' associations, but also and first of all with hunting ones". This is what the regional councilor ofEmilia Romagna of the League, Massimiliano Pompignoli, regarding the news released in recent days on the imminent adoption, by the regional council, of the new wild boar control plan, containing some important innovations that expand the possibilities for farmers to intervene on their land to contain the presence of these ungulates.
“There is no doubt” - explains Pompignoli - “that everyone's goal is to contain the growth of this dangerous ungulate and to prevent damage to agricultural production and biodiversity. However, in order to operate effectively and efficiently in such a way as to guarantee the effective containment of the species, a better coordination of all the subjects in the field is necessary, from the Region to the Provinces, from the Atc to the hunting associations. The works that have taken place between the Ass.re Mammi and the associations of the agricultural world for the purpose of adopting the Plan are not sufficient to guarantee a correct wildlife hunting management of our territories.
The contribution of the hunting world is necessary to strengthen the control of this species, in the places and at the times in which agricultural crops they are more exposed to danger. " Pompignoli, who is ready to ask the Regional Councilor Alessio Mammi for detailed information on the new plan in the Economic Policy Assembly Commission, finally underlines that "the real knot to be solved to unblock decisive initiatives in this area is that of national legislation, thirty years old, which must be modified to make it updated to problems that once did not cause any concern, such as the uncontrolled proliferation of wild boars. Without this regulatory operation, to be carried out as soon as possible, any other initiative risks being ineffective "(Source: Romagna League).
