Concrete supports
Emilia-Romagna agriculture needs concrete support for supply chains in difficulty. A sector hit hard by the bad weather and the floods of 2023 which also awaits answers on emerging issues such as African swine fever, the effects of climate change which lead to frosts, plant diseases and droughts, devastating for the fruit supply chain, and the increase in the costs of raw materials and energy products due to the impact of the conflict in Ukraine.
The revival of agriculture
The Region's Agriculture Department has sent the Government four proposals for amendments to Legislative Decree 63/2024 which contains numerous measures to protect and relaunch the primary sector of the economy. Published in the Official Journal, the provision must be confirmed and possibly integrated when converted into law in Parliament.

The proposed amendments range from compensation for production losses following the landslides caused by the 2023 flood, to measures to combat African swine fever, to compensation for the fruit growing system for the damage caused by the 2023 frosts, up to the containment of photovoltaic panels on the ground with the proposal to amend Legislative Decree 199/2021 on energy from renewable sources. In detail, on swine fever, African swine fever, the amendment proposed by the Region's department aims to give more intervention power to the Commissioner appointed to combat ASF, so that he can better manage the emergency that affects livestock farming and the production of pig sector in our territory. The request is to provide for a rule similar to that of the Commissioner for the "Blue Crab" emergency, to increase the ability of the Regions to stop or slow down the epidemic, intervening more incisively in the management of feral pigs even in unaffected areas but strategic (source: Emilia Romagna Region).
