GENERAL APPEARANCE: medium size, pure lines, elegant in appearance and movements.
BEHAVIOR / TEMPERAMENT: very active and gifted with a keen sense of hunting. Extremely friendly and good-natured.
HEAD
Flow rate high, long and dry, without exaggeration.
CRANIAL REGION
Skull: oval from ear to ear, with great cephalic capacity. Well marked occipital protuberance.
Stop: well marked.
FACIAL REGION
Truffle: black or liver-colored, depending on the color of the coat. Very open nostrils.
Muzzle: very square and of medium height; the length from the stop to the tip of the nose is equal to the length of the skull from the occiput to the eyes.
Lips: they must not be sagging.
Jaws / Teeth: strong, with the scissor joint. Refined complete dentition.
Eyes: bright, sweet and expressive. Color ranging from hazel to dark brown; the darker the eyes the more they are appreciated. The clearest eye is acceptable only in the brown and white subject. Oval in shape; not prominent.
Ears: of medium length, with low set; they fall flat against the cheeks. Velvety tip, upper part provided with fine and silky hair.
NECK: rather long neck, muscular and lean, slightly convex in the upper profile and clearly drawn in its junction with the head. Stronger and firmer towards the shoulder. Baleen or loose skin in the chinstrap is not allowed.
BODY
Moderate length.
Back: short and horizontal.
Lumbar region: broad, slightly convex, strong and muscular.
Chest: well descended in the sternal region, which is very high and wide between the shoulder blades; ribs well girded; the last ribs are long.
TAIL: junction almost at the level of the line of the back. Of medium length, it does not exceed the hock, it is neither corkscrew nor knotted. Slightly curved, but with no tendency to rise upwards. Equipped with fringes that start shortly after the hairline and increase in length towards the middle, and then shorten towards the end. The hair is long, lustrous, soft and silky, wavy but not curled. The tail is active and moves a lot in action; carried on a plane that never exceeds the level of the back.

FOREQUARTERS
Shoulder: well laid back obliquely.
Elbow: well descended against the body.
Forearm: straight and very muscular, with rounded musculature.
Pastern: short, strong, round and straight.
BACK LIMBS
The hind limbs are very muscular, including the legs.
Thigh: long.
Stifle: well angled.
Hock: neither open nor closed; well descended.
FEET : they have good pads with tightly arched fingers. Protected by abundant interdigital hair.
GAIT / MOVEMENT: free and harmonious gait that suggests speed and endurance. The hocks move freely revealing the thrusting power of the hindquarters. Seen from behind, hips and hocks are on the same line. Head carried naturally high.
COAT
HAIR: the hair, starting from the posterior region of the head at the level of the ears, is slightly wavy but not curled, long and silky, as in general in the setters. Presence of abundant fringes of the hind limbs, from the buttock almost to the foot.
Color: black and white, orange white, lemon and white, or tricolor, that is, black, white, and tan or brown. In any case, the colors must be evenly distributed, without heavy stains. Spotted cloaks will be preferred.

Height at the withers
Males: 64 to 68 cm
Females: 61 to 65 cm.
Pesi
Males: 27 to 29 kg
Females: 25 to 28 kg.
DEFECTS
Any deviation from the above must be considered a defect to be penalized according to its severity
NB Males must have normal-looking testicles fully descended into the scrotum.
