What does the regulation provide?
The FITAV Basilicata regional delegation, in collaboration with Apd Tiro all'aperto Basilicata, is organizing the first round of the regional championship on April 19th at the Tav Leonessa in Melfi (Potenza). Combined Shooting & Country Rifle, a qualifying competition for the Italian Individual and Team Championships to be held in June. These selections will determine the team members that will compete in the European Combined Shooting Championships in Parnü, Estonia, from July 3rd to 5th. The FITAV Combined Shooting regulations include a series of 25 Compak hunter clays and 25 Fossa hunter clays (4 points for each broken clay) and 20 rifle shots at 100 meters on three targets and from three different positions. The final round consists of five shots at the running wild boar target. The minimum permitted caliber is .22 Hornet and above, i.e., centerfire ammunition only.
The silhouettes
The first target is Roe Deer: 5 shots in 5 minutes standing at a fixed post. The second is Fox: 5 shots in 5 minutes lying on the ground, supported only by the elbows, or on a raised surface, but inclined so that the shooter can support themselves only with the elbows. The third target is Chamois: 5 shots in 5 minutes standing with an "alpenstock" provided by the organizers. The fourth target is Wild Boar: 5 shots in 5 minutes standing without any aids. At the wild boar target running at 50 meters (from left to right and vice versa, with the shooter's choice of starting time), 5 shots are fired in 5 minutes. The FITAV Country Rifle competition consists of 20 rifle shots at 100 meters on the 4 targets in the 4 positions and 5 shots at 50 meters on a moving target with the same setup as the combined event. Individual scores will also count towards the team rankings for both the Combined and Country Rifle events.
The composition of the teams
Each team may consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four shooters from the same region, and the best three scores will be considered. The top five teams and top 20 individual shooters from each region will be eligible to participate in the Italian Combined Hunting and Country Rifle Championship. Shooters or hunters from other regions, where regional qualifications are not held, may also participate in the qualification rounds, representing their region both individually and as a team. Shooters will qualify for the finals of the classification for which they are competing: Combined Shooting or Country Rifle. It is not possible to rank both by category and qualification: when registering, shooters must declare which classification they intend to compete for. If no declaration is made, the shooter will participate in the category they belong to.
Shooters from outside the region
Combined Shooting categories: Excellence, First, Second, and Third, Ladies, Youth Sector, Senior, Veterans. Country Rifle: Men, Ladies, Youth Sector, Senior, Veterans, Masters. FITAV members or members of FITAV-affiliated Hunting Associations (who, if qualified, can access the Italian Championship with a FITAV membership) may participate in Country Rifle. Members not included in the Combined Hunting Shooting category list will compete in the category immediately below their respective category in the other disciplines. The remaining shooters will compete in the Third Category. Rifle scores in the Combined Shooting also count towards Country Rifle, and vice versa. Registration costs €10, with a range director's fee of €2 per shooter for each competition series. Combined Shooting range service: €25 (including two series of 25 clays + four fixed targets + one moving target). Country Rifle range service: €15. Practice shots: €8 for each series, provided by the club for Country Rifle. When registering, you must declare the caliber you intend to compete with. The cash prize is €560. Prizes will be drawn among all participants present at the awards ceremony. A championship title will be awarded to the regional champion in each category and qualification.
