Specific projects
The meeting of the Board of Directors took place on Thursday 9 April Federparchi In a mixed format (in person in Rome and remotely). President Luca Santini opened the discussion by highlighting the positive results of the 2025 financial statements and underscored the continued fruitful collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, with which the framework agreement was signed. All the Federation's activities with associated protected areas and those on specific projects are also continuing constructively.
Unanimous approval
Francesco Carlucci, director of Federparchi, presented the Federation's comprehensive activities. The final budget, after extensive discussion, was unanimously approved. The new regulations governing the procedure for dismissing members for non-payment were also approved unanimously. The Board of Directors then approved the council's proposal to co-opt Gianluca Mureddu, current president of the Asinara National Park, which, among other things, also includes a marine protected area.
Moment of comparison
Finally, there was a broad discussion regarding the upcoming Europarc Federation international meeting on the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas, which will be held at Asinara National Park from May 26 to 28. This opportunity for discussion will also address the need to update certain aspects of the ECST in light of Federparchi's experience with protected areas, which has led to Italy, along with Spain, becoming the country with the highest adoption of the Charter.
