One of the most anticipated stages
Not even the bad weather was able to dampen the enthusiasm and determination of the hunters who met for one of the most awaited stages of the dog season last June 2nd at the zac di limbiate, in the province of Monza and Brianza. Despite a gloomy day and a less than favorable forecast, the 7:00 a.m. gathering saw excellent participation: approximately forty riders registered, ready to challenge each other on the proving ground. The entire organization was coordinated with determination and precision by the regional director for Lombardy, Cristiana Preti, supported by a judging panel led by expert judge G. Battista Formenti. The interregional event attracted enthusiasts and competitors from Lombardy, Piedmont, and Tuscany, with single-handed rounds scheduled for all categories.
Suspension and resumption
The program proceeded smoothly and orderly until 10:45 a.m. when, as forecast, a thunderstorm hit the competition grounds, forcing the immediate suspension of the event. At that moment, the organizers' remarkable management skills were evident: after consulting weather reports that indicated a possible clearing after 13 p.m., the staff promptly rearranged the day's schedule, bringing forward refreshments. Shortly after 13 p.m., the weather cleared as promised, and the competitors returned to the course without hesitation, demonstrating commendable determination. The races continued at a brisk pace until 15 p.m., when the final round was held, before giving way to the decisive and spectacular jump-offs that determined the final standings for the prestigious Benelli Trophy. In his closing remarks, the event's delegate publicly praised the exemplary sportsmanship demonstrated by all participants and the tenacious desire to compete that had fueled the day, expressing deep appreciation for the organization's ability to respond so swiftly to the weather emergency.
A clear evolution
The judges' technical report was particularly significant, highlighting the handlers' marked improvement, both in their management and handling of the auxiliary team and in the overall quality of the dogs presented in the competition. The awards ceremony saw a shower of recognitions for both the "Trofeo Lady" and the third round of the "Benelli" circuit. Adding further prestige and official status to the event was the presence of the industry's institutional leaders: Fabrizio Muccioli representing the National Commission, Marco Bruni (Regional President of Lombardy), and Luca Agnelli (Regional Vice President and Provincial President of Milan and Monza Brianza). The Federcaccia hunters, on behalf of Cristiana Preti, publicly thanked the participants who participated in the Trofeo Lady Benelli in Limbiate.
