The title of the congress
From 10th to 15th November the fourth international symposium on the flamingo, organized by the IUCN in collaboration with ISPRA, the Flamingo Specialist Group, and other entities responsible for research on the species. The conference, titled "Flamingos in a Rapidly Changing World," will address the species' biology with presentations from around the world.
The case of the Venice Lagoon
Federcaccia's Research and Studies Office will be present with a presentation on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, entitled "Flamingos and Anatidae: Conflicts in Managed Areas." The paper will present the negative impacts of excessive flamingo populations in lagoon and valley areas, with particular reference to the wildlife hunting farms of the Venice Lagoon and the Po Delta.
The processing carried out
The data was collected using a questionnaire in collaboration with EPS and will be presented by Scientific Coordinator Dr. Michele Sorrenti, thanks to an analysis carried out in collaboration with Dr. Elisa Cappiello, an intern at Federcaccia (Office of Wildlife and Agro-Environmental Studies and Research, Italian Hunting Federation).
