“We extend our best wishes for a successful job to the new regional councillor for agri-food resources, Francesco Paolicelli”: this is Gennaro Sicolo, regional president of Cia-Italian Farmers of Puglia and national vice president to extend their best wishes to the new councilor appointed this afternoon by governor Antonio Decaro.
Daily emergencies
"Our organization confirms its willingness to collaborate with the new councilor to address the many daily emergencies and concerns arising from Puglia's agricultural community," Sicolo continued. "We hope that, in continuation of the great work accomplished by Councilor Donato Pentassuglia, whom we thank, and the work done by Paolicelli himself in the regional council committee during the previous term, the new councilor will immediately put these issues on the agenda and continue working on the many issues affecting Puglia's agriculture, in collaboration with professional agricultural organizations."
So many issues to address
From Xylella fastidiosa, to market crises with starvation prices for agricultural products and unfair competition from foreign products, to Land Reclamation Consortia, to the water crisis and the need for infrastructure throughout the region, to wildlife, to soil reduction, to the CSR, to the new CAP, to a reduction in bureaucracy that is more necessary today than ever to restore confidence in agricultural businesses.
