An all too current theme
Enough is enough. Giulia Sottoriva, president of CONFAVI (Confederation of Italian Hunting Associations), in publishing the video that addresses a current issue that is directly affecting hunters and their dogs. The topic of abandonment of these animals by hunters is a hackneyed one, but lately it has received a lot (too much) of media attention.
The message to animal conservationists
Here's what Sottoriva said about it: “We're shocked to note that some media outlets these days are trying to convey the message that only hunters abandon their dogs. Assuming we condemn anyone who abandons or mistreats their animals, we ask ourselves: isn't that animal abuse for all those people who force their pets to live their entire lives in tiny apartments? And for all those people who force their dogs to wear absurd and annoying slippers or an annoying jacket or coat? Isn't that animal abuse? So, are you animal rights activists only interested in the well-being of hunters' dogs, or are you interested in the well-being of all animals?".
